Two short ones

Is it impossible to love each other ?

Asked the Bomb………….

The answer’s got mixed up with the heart

Remote controlled

By the JOKER…………..

*******************

‘Love thy neighbour as thyself”

Do you love thee………

Do you

Love………

It’s just an sms, idiot!

Frienship Day

Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.

Don't walk behind me, I may not lead.

Walk beside me and be my friend."

Friendship Day Quotes by: Albert
Camus (also attributed to Maimonidies)
.

Friends, Romans, Countrymen………………

If you believe what you see

If you believe what you can’t see

If you believe what they tell you

If you believe what you hear

If you believe that the words on your screen

Are sent by some human hands

And not from some alien

Or some automatic machine

Then believe this net is catching friends like you………..

HAPPY FRIENSHIP DAY

Onion peeler

The Onion Peeler

She wakes up and face the thing called love

For which they sacrifice lives

For which the mortal is deified in mausoleums

For which the lyricist asks for music

She is no Picasso

Or some modern-day Keats

Her wonder is confined in the box  of conformity

She counts and recounts the minutes ahead

To make up a healthy lunch and a tiffin for the rest

She could have made the perfect cheerleader

For the team called home

As they turn in their sleep

Presuming the perfect bed-tea

It’s good that they’ve a room for her only

And she can wash her dream there

Thank God, He’s invented such stuff

Otherwise someone might catch her crying……………

Poem by ADRIENNE RICH

Here’s a great piece from a
great poet

Power

 by

Adrienne Rich

Living in
the earth-deposits of our history

Today a backhoe divulged out of a crumbling flank of earth

one bottle amber perfect a hundred-year-old

cure for fever or melancholy a tonic

for living on this earth in the winters of this climate.

Today I was reading about Marie Curie:

she must have known she suffered from radiation sickness

her body bombarded for years by the element

she had purified

It seems she denied to the end

the source of the cataracts on her eyes

the cracked and suppurating skin of her finger-ends

till she could no longer hold a test-tube or a pencil

She died a famous woman denying

her wounds

denying

her wounds came from the same source as her power.

Forty plus

The last blog got repeated unnecessarily. The poem that came
into my mind is this………

Forty Plus

At forty, you realize

You can’t outnumber the days

The great hall has no seat for you

Have to stand out and welcome guests

As part of a Mr.-Mrs. Show.

Gone are the days

When you could slip out

For a splash in the rain

And a bite in the choc-bar………..

Your teeth wear your age

So does the skin

And the hair

Which you can’t part anymore

They say age makes you wiser

But you wish to be a fool

As the twenty something

Conquers your soul.

If

If the lips are asked

to perform miracles

They wouldn’t speak out stony chapters

Or turn over white leaves

Instead they would touch yours

To bring up eternity…………

If the hands are asked

To build up a monument

They won’t search for the concrete

Or the perfect stone chips

Instead they would engulf you

To build up the timeless Taj……….

If the eyes are asked

To start a fire

They wouldn’t flutter a bit

Or let the tears melt

Instead they would look at yours

And the universe would turn to ashes…

Suvo Nabobarsho

Here's wishing  all a Happy Bengali New Year's Day for the year 1415...........

That's   SUVO NABO BARSHO

And let's hope we can try and cease to be Bongs or Congs or Ding Dongs  and be Bangali, speak Bangla and save whatever's still remeining..........just because the death of a language means death of a culture and I don't think to live  in the world of monoculture is worthwhile................

FREE TIBET

FREE TIBET

THIS SUMMER LET’S GO UP AND FREE TIBET

AND SAVE THE BLOOD ON THE ICICLES

FROM THE RED , THE STINKING RED

WHICH JUST BELIEVES IN CRUSHING

WHATEVER’S PURE, OLD, AND SHINING

LET’S REPAINT THE MOUNTAINS

AND THE GLISTENING HOMES OF GOD

LETS PUT THE WORDS ‘LOVE’ AND ‘PEACE’

BACK ON THE MAP AGAIN.
